In light of these challenges, Google has unveiled a sweeping update to its Android app development guidelines. The update places a strong emphasis on enhancing memory usage efficiency and code stability. Additionally, Google is introducing a more rigorous performance indicator framework and rolling out a specialized memory diagnostic toolkit to aid developers.

Google has mandated that all apps must be fully adapted to these new standards by February 2027. Failure to comply will result in a reduction of their recommendation weight within the Google Play Store, potentially affecting their visibility and download rates. In tandem with these app development changes, Google is also revamping its account system. Beginning in April 2027, apps that offer login capabilities will be required to support the 'zero-click login' standard through the Android Restore Credentials API. This will facilitate seamless and automatic login restoration for users when they switch devices, enhancing the overall user experience.
