The AMI department under AM Group announced that it will invest over US$8 billion to build a global AI computing network and has already placed an order with Nvidia for 9,000 Vera Rubin NVL72 rack systems, expected to be delivered by early 2027. These devices will be first deployed at the AI factory in Hyderabad, India. The first phase of the factory plans for a computing power capacity of 30 megawatts, utilizing liquid cooling technology to support the training of trillion-parameter-scale AI models, with inference token costs reduced tenfold compared to the previous generation. The Hyderabad base, a key node in AMI's global 'Computing Power as a Service' network, will ultimately establish a distributed computing power matrix covering four countries—India, the United States, Finland, and Malaysia—with a total capacity of 1 gigawatt, of which 200 megawatts will be activated within the year. Additionally, AMI is advancing the construction of 5-gigawatt data centers, with 1 gigawatt earmarked for service-oriented transformation. Founded by a veteran entrepreneur in the energy sector, AMI is backed by Greenko, one of India's largest clean energy suppliers, which provides energy security for AMI with the support of strategic investors. By integrating renewable energy with computing technology, the unit computing power energy consumption at the Hyderabad base is reduced by over 40% compared to traditional data centers. Currently, AMI is accelerating its global expansion, with multiple data centers in North America and Europe already in the design phase, all adopting modular liquid cooling architectures and reserving space for chip upgrades.
