On August 26, the Information Office of the State Council convened a press conference centered on the theme "Launching the 15th Five-Year Plan." This event provided a comprehensive overview of the plan's implementation and the advancements in new industrialization. Liu Yulin, Director-General of the Department of Information and Communications Development at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), underscored the importance of bolstering the development of the open-source ecosystem. He highlighted the need to nurture vibrant open-source projects within the artificial intelligence (AI) sector and to facilitate the broad adoption of open-source technologies.

Additionally, Liu Yulin stated that MIIT will support the widespread use of open-source operating systems and datasets in the manufacturing industry. There will also be a concerted effort to cultivate talent in the open-source domain, foster a culture of collaboration and sharing, and create a more accommodating and developer-friendly environment for entrepreneurs and software developers alike.
