Starcloud is a startup focused on developing satellites that perform AI inference in orbit. After completing a $170 million Series A funding round in March this year, the company secured an additional $250 million in extended funding, bringing the total for this round to $420 million and raising its valuation to $2.3 billion. The new funds will be used to construct a larger satellite manufacturing facility and advance the development of the Starcloud-3 spacecraft, which is planned to be launched via SpaceX's Starship. Given the tightening rocket transportation market, future launch capacity may become a constraint on the company's expansion. Starcloud's CEO is raising more funds to ensure sufficient satellite launch resources.
