NVIDIA has categorically denied rumors of shipping custom AI chips in small batches to Chinese customers by the end of the year, stating that there are currently no LPU sales in the Chinese market and that no LPU products targeting the Chinese market are planned in its product roadmap. Previous reports claimed that the chip is a derivative version of Groq 3 LPU, utilizing Groq-licensed technology, with Chinese customers having already placed orders that comply with U.S. export controls. Additionally, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has previously stated that the Chinese AI chip market has largely been ceded to Huawei.
