On August 21, individuals with inside knowledge disclosed that Anthropic, an artificial intelligence enterprise, expects its initial public offering (IPO) to be on par with or surpass the milestone achieved by SpaceX. As preparations for the listing gain momentum, a significant IPO is taking shape. Insiders report that Anthropic is currently engaged in pertinent financial assessments and intends to formally submit its application for a substantial IPO as soon as the end of this month.
During recent investor briefings led by Chief Financial Officer Klao, the company deliberately steered clear of valuation discussions. Records indicate that SpaceX amassed $75 billion during its IPO, with the total escalating to $86.2 billion following the exercise of the over-allotment option, thereby setting a new benchmark for the largest-ever initial stock offering. The over-allotment option is usually exercised when stock prices experience an upswing during the initial listing phase.
Anthropic’s ambition mirrors the broader trend of AI industry frontrunners rapidly transforming the tech investment landscape. Earlier reports suggest that Anthropic’s preliminary revenue for the second quarter surpassed $11.5 billion, a stark contrast to the mere $787 million recorded during the same period in 2025. By the end of July, the company’s annualized revenue run rate had soared to $65 billion.
