On August 14th, news emerged that the inaugural meeting for formulating a set of national standards concerning Test Methods for Humanoid Robots took place in Optical Valley on August 13th. At this pivotal gathering, the preliminary work for seven standards—covering general stipulations, environmental awareness, decision-making and planning, as well as motion control—was launched concurrently.
The event saw the participation of over 200 industry representatives from prominent domestic companies, such as Unitree Robotics, Xiaomi Robotics, Magic Atom, ZTE, DeepBlue Technology, Horizon Robotics, Lingxin Qiaoshou, and Galaxy General. Additionally, representatives from esteemed academic institutions, including Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China Jiliang University, and the University of Bamberg, were also in attendance.
During the proceedings, the Humanoid Robots and Embodied AI Standards Working Group, operating under the aegis of the Hubei Provincial Electronic Information Standardization Technical Committee, was formally introduced. The inaugural cohort of member units comprises 29 entities, including the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and the Hubei Institute of Metrology and Testing, marking a significant step forward in standardizing the humanoid robotics industry.
