On August 12, data from South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT highlighted findings from the '2025 Additional Communication Business Status Survey' published in June of this year. The survey indicated that 60% of generative AI users reported completing over half of their searches via AI. An in-depth analysis by the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) further revealed that, projecting to 2025, 'searching for daily information' stands as the primary use of generative AI, constituting 42.5% of its applications. The survey also illuminated the landscape of AI service usage rates (with multiple selections permitted), where ChatGPT and Gemini emerged as the leaders, with 41.8% and 9.8% of users having experience with them, respectively. Including Microsoft's AI service, Copilot (2.2%), the cumulative experience rate of these three overseas AI services soared to a substantial 53.8%. In stark contrast, CLOVA X, a domestic AI service from NAVER, claimed a mere 2% share.
