On August 11, 2026, Manus issued a statement, officially announcing its impending return to operating as an independent entity, with the aim of continuing to serve millions of users across the globe. In compliance with regulatory mandates in certain jurisdictions, data generated by a subset of users on or after December 29, 2025—the date of Meta's acquisition—will be erased between August 23 and 24 (Singapore time). Affected users are advised to back up their data prior to August 23 and will be able to restore it from August 25 onwards. Meanwhile, users whose data remains unaffected can carry on using the service without any disruptions.
