Google had initially set its sights on a June launch for the Gemini 3.5 Pro. However, as of now, the model remains unreleased, and there are internal indications that its rollout may have been indefinitely postponed. To bridge this gap, the tech giant is now considering an early promotion of the Gemini 4 series.
At one point, Pichai expressed strong confidence that the Gemini model would continue to lead the pack. Yet, the current reality paints a different picture: Gemini has slipped behind state-of-the-art models, securing only the 8th position in lab evaluations.
Notably, the Gemini 3.5 Pro did make a fleeting appearance on the Arena platform before being swiftly taken down after just 30 minutes.
