The Yunfeng Fund, a venture capital firm co-established by Jack Ma and Yu Feng, has predominantly directed its investment endeavors toward the Chinese market. However, this time around, the Yunfeng Fund has made a notable foray into the United States by participating in the funding round of Corgi, a San Francisco-based AI insurance startup, with an investment of roughly US$30 million. This move signifies the Yunfeng Fund's first publicly known investment transaction in the U.S. Following the financing, Corgi's valuation soared to US$4 billion, representing a nearly fourfold increase over the past three months. Corgi, which specializes in AI-driven commercial insurance solutions, was co-founded by Emily Yuan and Nico Laqua. The startup has been recognized as a standout project in Y Combinator's 2024 summer batch. Moreover, Corgi boasts a 24-hour café in San Francisco, embodying a corporate culture that promotes working seven days a week.
