The top US information security official has raised the alarm, emphasizing that national computer systems must ramp up their cybersecurity defenses to tackle the mounting threats posed by AI-fueled cyberattacks. On Wednesday, Michael Duffy, the Acting Federal Chief Information Security Officer, pointed out that, traditionally, both the government and private sector have taken a reactive stance towards cybersecurity challenges. However, he stressed that this mindset must evolve in the age of AI, necessitating proactive strategies to be implemented before cyber attackers launch their assaults.
