Microsoft's financial reliance on OpenAI is far greater than what outsiders have previously thought. According to documents submitted by Microsoft last week, in the fiscal year that concluded in June this year, the company earned as much as $24.1 billion in revenue from its collaboration with OpenAI. This suggests that OpenAI accounted for over half, and perhaps close to 70%, of Microsoft's total revenue in the AI sector.
