On August 6, Meta Platforms (META.O) unveiled its first programming agent, Muse Code, aiming to challenge Anthropic and OpenAI. Muse Code represents another significant achievement under the leadership of Alexandr Wang, Meta's head of artificial intelligence, who oversees the development of foundational models at Meta's Superintelligence Lab (MSL). Muse Code is designed to streamline the process of developing applications within a single interface and managing AI-driven agents. Currently, Muse Code is available in beta or preview form and can be used in conjunction with Meta's latest AI model, Muse Spark 1.2. Developers can access Muse Code through a pay-as-you-go model, with API pricing similar to that of Muse Spark 1.1, i.e., $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens.
