According to Reuters, the U.S. government has decided not to conduct security testing on open-source weight AI models in its newly proposed plan for assessing the cybersecurity capabilities of advanced artificial intelligence systems. On August 4, Trump administration advisors disclosed this decision to attendees during a closed-door meeting at the White House. The meeting brought together representatives from leading global AI companies, including Meta, Google, NVIDIA, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
