Given the current pace of development, he would not be surprised if China takes the lead in cutting-edge areas by the end of this year or next year. He believes that China's open, collaborative, and shared ecosystem is the driving force for change, while U.S. model developers, working in isolation, risk falling behind. Additionally, last month, an OpenAI agent attacked Hugging Face, which Delangue attributed to an engineering mistake. The company responded to the attack using NVIDIA versions of Chinese open-source models.
