On July 27, the Caixin Roundtable AI series of events took place in Beijing, centering on the transformative impact of intelligent agent technology on the terminal industry and the trajectory of personal AI development. Participants from esteemed institutions and companies, including the Development Research Center of the State Council, IDC, Qualcomm, and Rokid, engaged in discussions. They highlighted that the AI industry is transitioning from a focus on model capability construction to an explosive phase of application scenarios, with intelligent agents emerging as a pivotal force driving the industry’s advancement.

Wang Jiping, Vice President of IDC China, remarked that the AI super cycle is ushering in changes within the terminal market, with AI-enabled terminals emerging as a new avenue for growth. Innovative terminals, such as intelligent agent-equipped mobile phones, are exploring ways to enhance the personal AI experience.

Zhu Yuankun, a product technology expert from Qualcomm, suggested that personal AI should embody three key capabilities: personalization, continuous awareness, and privacy security. He emphasized that end-cloud collaboration represents a crucial pathway for delivering personalized experiences through intelligent agents.

Participants concurred that the competitive landscape in the terminal industry is shifting from hardware prowess to AI capabilities. Mobile phones continue to serve as the primary platform for personal AI, while new devices like AI glasses are poised to become significant entry points. Collaborative efforts within the industrial ecosystem and the ability of intelligent agents to operate seamlessly across various terminals have become essential for future progress.
