On July 22, Baidu Group revealed that it had obtained a confirmation letter from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in response to its voluntary application for a primary listing conversion in Hong Kong. The conversion to a primary listing is anticipated to be finalized within the year, subject to the exchange’s approval. Earlier, on the 16th, Baidu's board of directors had given the green light to management to proceed with this initiative. Once the conversion is complete, Baidu will achieve a dual primary listing status on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Market analysts are of the opinion that this strategic move will bolster securities liquidity, broaden the investor base, and potentially pave the way for Baidu's inclusion in the Southbound Trading Link as early as September.
