On July 21, 2026, NVIDIA announced the new-generation Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system, featuring a single-switch capacity of up to 102.4Tbps, double that of its predecessor. Designed specifically for hyperscale AI infrastructure based on the Vera Rubin platform, the system aims to connect hundreds of thousands of GPUs and CPUs, providing network support for large-scale AI training, agent applications, and inference tasks. Spectrum-6 will serve as the core component of the next-gen Spectrum-X Ethernet platform, significantly enhancing overall computational efficiency in AI factories through high bandwidth, intelligent traffic management, and fault recovery capabilities. AI infrastructure builders such as CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceXAI, and Tesla will be among the first to deploy the system.
