On July 21, reporters obtained data from Shanghai Customs indicating that Shanghai’s foreign trade demonstrated robust performance in the first half of 2026. The total import and export volume reached RMB 2.55 trillion, marking an 18.6% year-on-year increase and hitting a record high. Notably, exports exceeded the RMB 1 trillion threshold for the first time, totaling RMB 1.14 trillion and growing by 20.1%. Meanwhile, imports amounted to RMB 1.41 trillion, reflecting a 17.4% increase.
