On July 21, news emerged that Microsoft has officially confirmed its plans to integrate AMD’s Helios rack-level AI system into its Azure cloud platform. This move will see the launch of the inaugural batch of ND MI455X v7 instances, which are meticulously crafted for AI inference at the production level. Citing CNBC, AMD has outlined its strategy to commence the delivery of systems associated with Helios in the latter half of 2026. Furthermore, Microsoft is set to enrich Azure’s offerings by introducing HDv2 and HXv2 instances, both underpinned by AMD platforms. These instances are tailored to cater to distinct needs: AI data workloads, chip design, and technical computing, respectively.
