On July 18th, during the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the first satellite constellation of Shanghai’s groundbreaking space-based digital infrastructure project—the ‘Star Hub Initiative’—was officially announced. The unveiling ceremony was co-hosted by the WAIC Organizing Committee and Fudan University. As a flagship endeavor under Shanghai’s strategic vision for the space computing sector, the ‘Star Hub Initiative’ is set to become Shanghai’s leading space computing constellation project. Featuring three satellites, this constellation is designed to enable onboard data processing in space, significantly reducing dependence on ground-based infrastructure.
