On July 19, Zheng Weimin, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, addressed the AI Infrastructure Innovation and Development Forum in the Agentic Era. He emphasized that the swift growth in computing power does not necessarily translate into efficient Token generation capabilities. In today's agent-driven landscape, the real scarcity lies not merely in chips but also in the comprehensive ability to generate Tokens consistently, affordably, and at a high standard. Tokens are transitioning from mere technical metrics to becoming pivotal production assets within the industry. Meanwhile, inference systems are shifting from isolated optimization to a more distributed, cached, heterogeneous, and service-centric paradigm.
