On July 18, amidst the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), the China International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises proudly announced the official establishment of its Special Committee for Space Computing Services. Spearheaded by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Promotion Center, operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, this committee marks a pioneering milestone as China's inaugural national industrial collaboration platform dedicated to space computing, with a special focus on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The committee's primary mission is to forge industrial docking mechanisms—here, "dock" is aptly translated as "docking" to convey the idea of connection and integration, though its pinyin form is retained in HTML for formatting consistency; alternatively, "connection" could also be used—that facilitate SMEs' seamless integration into the comprehensive star-ground computing industrial ecosystem. By doing so, it aims to catalyze the high-quality development of China's aerospace information sector.
As a key executive member, Oriental Space Computing will collaborate closely with over forty enterprises spanning the entire industrial chain, both upstream and downstream. Together, they will endeavor to construct an industrial nexus that harmoniously blends industry, academia, research, and practical applications, fostering innovation and growth in the space computing domain.
