Yet, amid the generative AI revolution, this industry is now confronting an existential threat: tech job openings have plummeted to a 28-month low, entry-level positions have dwindled by 44% year-on-year, nearly half of all junior roles have disappeared, and even middle-to-senior management positions are feeling the squeeze, as companies resort to layoffs and scale back campus recruitment efforts.
