Crystal-Optech recently released a statement addressing the abnormal fluctuations in its stock trading. The company's AI optics division encompasses two main areas: optical storage and optical connectivity. At present, the optical storage business is in the pre-mass-production verification stage and, as of early 2025, has yet to generate any sales revenue. Considering the lengthy product verification process, it will require additional time before this business can scale up effectively. The optical connectivity business, on the other hand, centers around five key product categories: filters, prisms, silicon lenses, glass substrates, and waveguides, forming what is known as a "3+2" product system. Among these, filter and silicon lens products are currently undergoing customer sampling, while cutting-edge technologies like glass substrates and waveguides are still in the early stages of development and have not yet contributed to the company's financial performance. Over the past two years, Crystal-Optech's primary source of performance growth has been its consumer electronics business, particularly from major clients in North America. As an innovative sector, AI optics involves a longer timeline for project implementation and performance realization. Consequently, its contribution to the company's overall performance remains limited in the short term, and it is unlikely to emerge as a major driver of growth in the near future.
