The U.S. Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on two AI models from Anthropic: Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5. Starting tomorrow, these two models will regain global access. Previously, due to national security concerns, these models, released on June 9, were subject to export controls, leading Anthropic to suspend global access to them. Recently, there has been a relaxation in policy, with Mythos 5 gradually being reopened to approved institutions and others. Additionally, Anthropic has introduced two new models: Claude Sonnet 5 and Claude Science. Claude Sonnet 5 poses a lower risk of cyberattacks, while Claude Science, an AI workbench, is specifically designed for scientists.
