The European Union engaged in discussions with the Trump administration after the United States restricted foreign access to Anthropic's most advanced AI models earlier this month. Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, stated that a senior EU official discussed the move, which led Anthropic to completely cut off access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models, during a visit to Washington this week. Henna Virkkunen mentioned that she also discussed the issue with the Trump administration and that the EU has been in communication with Anthropic.
