On June 6, the Institute of Oceanology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences proudly unveiled its latest innovation: the 'Langya' 2.0 intelligent forecasting model for global marine phenomena. Developed independently by the institute, this advanced model represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, version 1.0. It broadens its scope to encompass intelligent predictions of intricate marine events. With a keen focus on six distinct categories of phenomena, such as typhoons, precipitation patterns, storm surges, and sea ice formations, the institute has crafted six specialized vertical models. These models collectively form a comprehensive, multi-scenario prediction system, offering intelligent technological backing for the prevention and alleviation of marine disasters, as well as ensuring the safety of maritime navigation.
