On Wednesday, the Illinois legislature passed a landmark bill that, if signed by the governor, will set new standards for regulating top AI companies in the U.S. The bill, numbered SB 315, passed the House with a vote of 110-0 and the Senate with a vote of 52-5 on Thursday. The legislature has 30 days to submit the bill to Governor JB Pritzker, who has indicated he will sign it.
