The charity institution Biohub, co-founded by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, released a world model for protein biology this Wednesday to facilitate the process of drug development. Proteins, essential molecules in the human body, perform multiple functions such as building body structures and generating energy. However, designing new proteins that are both stable and effective has always been a significant challenge in the scientific community. The model launched by Biohub, based on fourth-generation evolutionary-scale modeling technology, aids scientists in gaining a deeper understanding of protein biology by learning protein sequences generated during evolution, thereby accelerating the development of new drugs, particularly in the treatment of cancer and immune diseases.
