Apple Inc. has released an open letter, signaling its openness to AI-generated music. The company stressed that it would not resort to an outright ban but would instead enforce rigorous governance measures. Although AI-generated music currently makes up less than 1% of the total playback volume on Apple Music, Apple maintains that oversight is essential. The company recognizes the potential of AI to foster artistic innovation, yet insists that such innovation must be grounded in transparency and adhere to anti-abuse regulations. Apple is firmly against the practice of misrepresenting AI-generated works as human creations to deceive listeners.

In March of this year, Apple Music introduced support for labeling AI-generated content, and going forward, clear labeling will be a compulsory requirement for all content providers. Concurrently, Apple is working on internal tools to identify and combat fraud, spam, and impersonation. Any AI-generated songs that gain significant playback volumes through traffic manipulation or fraudulent means will be promptly removed from the platform.
