At Tsinghua University's academic forum on "New Paradigms in AI Healthcare," Wang Xiaochuan, founder and CEO of Baichuan Intelligence, unveiled the company's next-generation medical AI model, Baichuan-M4, alongside its AI family doctor assistant, "Baixiaoyi." During the event, Wang also presented clinical research findings conducted in partnership with Beijing Children's Hospital, the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Shanghai Ruijin Hospital. Wang emphasized that AI's successful integration into healthcare hinges on specialized medical models that meet stringent requirements, including minimal factual inaccuracies (hallucinations), robust evidence-based reasoning, and the ability to ask clarifying questions—challenges that general-purpose AI models often struggle to overcome. To tackle these issues, Baichuan Intelligence has optimized its M-series medical models for these specific needs. Baichuan-M4 has achieved top global rankings on three authoritative medical benchmarks, significantly reducing its base model's factual hallucination rate to just 3.3% through proprietary algorithms. Meanwhile, "Baixiaoyi" functions as a family health management assistant within the WeChat ecosystem. It encourages users to connect via enterprise WeChat and form family groups, automatically generating individual health records for each member, capturing structured health data, identifying potential health risks, and providing proactive reminders for appropriate actions.
