Ubisoft is discreetly conducting trials of generative AI technology, utilizing a preliminary version of ‘Far Cry 7’. However, the outcomes of these tests have fallen short of expectations. The experimentation is still in its nascent research and development stage and will not influence the ultimate version of the game, nor is it linked to the ‘Teammates’ initiative. Despite facing operational losses as reflected in its financial reports, Ubisoft is ramping up its investment in generative AI. The company is fully engaged in developing AI-powered QA testing bots and intelligent systems designed for real-time dynamic interactions with non-player characters (NPCs). The objective is to empower NPCs to engage in meaningful dialogues with players and retain information about them. According to reports, the next installment in the ‘Far Cry’ franchise is anticipated to hit the shelves before March 2029.
