On May 24, Pakistan and Alibaba unveiled a series of cooperation agreements spanning AI infrastructure, medical AI technology, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) development, talent nurturing, and electronic payments. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Alibaba Group Chairman Joe Tsai graced the signing ceremony held at Alibaba's global headquarters in Hangzhou. The collaboration encompasses the following aspects: Alibaba.com is set to offer AI and digital training to 10,000 Pakistani SMEs, aiding at least 2,000 businesses in establishing and expanding their presence in international markets. Koko Tech, a subsidiary of Daraz, will allocate $3 million to bolster its digital payment services. Alibaba Cloud will support Pakistan in constructing localized cloud infrastructure and AI applications, with compatibility for Urdu and other local languages. The DAMO Academy will furnish Pakistani healthcare institutions with medical AI technology to facilitate cancer and chronic disease screenings. Additionally, both parties will delve into profound cooperation in AI, cloud computing, embodied intelligence education, and other domains to cultivate innovative talent.
