Microsoft plans to roll out an update to Office applications next week, allowing users to turn off the controversial Copilot floating button. This button, previously added to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, hovers in the bottom-right corner of documents or spreadsheets, obstructing content and lacking a complete shutdown option, sparking widespread dissatisfaction and complaints from Excel users. Microsoft has now acknowledged that the design disrupts workflows and will release a fix update to restore users' control over the interface layout. After the update, users can right-click the floating icon to manually dock it to the top ribbon or sidebar, no longer restricted to floating mode.
