On May 20, Wuhan witnessed the debut of China’s first general-purpose robot tailored for home environments—the "Shiguang S1." This versatile robot can handle various household tasks, from folding laundry and cooking to engaging in meaningful conversations with the elderly. What sets it apart is its ability to continuously learn and acquire new skills over time. Unlike industrial robots that operate strictly according to pre-programmed instructions, the "Shiguang S1" comprehends task objectives through its proprietary embodied intelligence model and autonomously formulates action plans. The company behind this innovation has announced plans to launch its advanced embodied intelligence large model, GigaBrain 1, in the third quarter of this year. This model represents significant advancements in data comprehension, task adaptability, and precision in action execution within home settings. Moreover, the robot incorporates a compliant control system that halts its movements instantly upon detecting humans or pets, ensuring safety. Currently, the robot is undergoing testing by select "seed users," and families residing in Wuhan can apply for participation through the "Shiguang Vision" official account or dedicated event page.
