Recently, a collaborative effort among the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and other relevant departments has culminated in the official release of the national standard series titled “Grading of Intelligence in Artificial Intelligence Terminals” (GB/Z 177—2026). A conference was convened on May 8th to promote and implement these standards.
The standards employ a “2+N” framework. Here, “2” denotes “Part 1: Reference Framework” and “Part 2: General Requirements,” which collectively clarify the concept of intelligence, its grading, and the testing methodologies. The “N” component encompasses specific standards tailored to various products, including smartphones, computers, and televisions. The inaugural batch of standards covers seven distinct categories. These standards are designed to standardize the evaluation of terminal intelligence, foster product iteration and upgrades, and ultimately ensure a positive experience for consumers.
