According to MacRumors, Apple plans to introduce a new feature called 'Extensions' in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, which are set to be released in the fall of 2026. This feature will allow users to independently choose third-party AI services for various functions of Apple Intelligence, such as text and image editing. Users will be able to select supported AI models via the App Store to run various system functions. Additionally, Apple is developing a standalone Siri app that supports text and voice interactions and can access past conversation records. The new Siri will adopt a multimodal conversation mode similar to ChatGPT and deeply integrate technical support from Google's Gemini model.
