Recent court documents have unveiled that, two days prior to the pivotal lawsuit hearing at the Federal Court in Oakland, Musk took the proactive step of reaching out to OpenAI President Greg Brockman to assess his openness to a settlement. During their conversation, when Brockman suggested that both sides mutually withdraw their lawsuits, Musk replied, "By the end of this weekend, you and Sam (Altman) will become the two most disliked figures in America. If you persist in refusing a settlement, just wait and observe." This legal battle stems from Musk's accusations against OpenAI, its CEO Sam Altman, and President Brockman, alleging that they have strayed from their initial non-profit mission and shifted towards a for-profit model. Musk is seeking damages in excess of $150 billion. The trial began on April 28 and is anticipated to extend until mid-May.
