Several employees with knowledge of the matter revealed that Janelle Gale, Meta's Chief Human Resources Officer, stated in an internal meeting that the company cannot guarantee there will be no further layoffs beyond the already announced plans. Previously, Meta had announced that it would lay off approximately 10% of its global workforce, affecting around 8,000 employees, by May 20, 2026, and cancel 6,000 recruitment positions.
