On April 28, CCTV delivered a report stating that the Manus merger and acquisition case had come to a close. The Office of China's Foreign Investment Security Review Mechanism, operating under the auspices of the National Development and Reform Commission, has officially and legally barred foreign capital from acquiring the Manus project, mandating the cancellation of the transaction. Initially, Manus was an AI enterprise established by a Chinese startup. However, it subsequently relocated its headquarters to Singapore and significantly reduced its domestic workforce. This particular merger and acquisition deal entailed the transfer of domestic AI business assets overseas for sale to Meta, posing compliance risks. Consequently, the transaction was prohibited.
