Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with OpenAI, bringing cutting-edge intelligence technologies to the cloud infrastructure domain. As part of this expanded collaboration, AWS has introduced three new products (all in limited preview) on the Amazon Bedrock platform: the latest OpenAI models, the OpenAI-based programming agent Codex, and Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents powered by OpenAI. These products are designed to meet the needs of enterprises leveraging powerful AI models and agents for building, while ensuring the necessary security, operational, and data governance capabilities for production workloads. Among them, the OpenAI models on Amazon Bedrock are accessible via existing APIs and control panels, inheriting enterprise-grade control features; Codex allows enterprise teams to directly access OpenAI's programming agent within the AWS environment; and Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents integrate OpenAI's capabilities with AWS infrastructure, making it easier to deploy production-ready agents powered by OpenAI. Additionally, when combined with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents will offer even more advanced features. This launch marks a deeper phase of collaboration between the two parties, with both sides committed to introducing new technological advancements in the future.
