In August 2025, Google integrated two cutting-edge AI-powered features into its translation service: real-time translation and a "Practice" mode. The "Practice" mode is dedicated to oral language training, offering instant feedback by scrutinizing users' pronunciation and delivering tailored suggestions for enhancement. It supports customizable, scenario-based dialogues, such as those for travel and dining scenarios, and enables users to personalize courses according to their language proficiency and learning objectives. Presently, this feature is being incrementally introduced on both Android and iOS platforms, supporting over 70 languages, including English, Spanish, and French. Initially, it will be accessible to users in regions such as the United States, India, and Mexico. This update signifies Google Translate's evolution from a simple translation tool to a comprehensive language learning assistant, substantially boosting translation accuracy and multimodal interaction capabilities through the incorporation of the Gemini AI model.
