In alignment with the State Council's Opinions on Thoroughly Implementing the 'Artificial Intelligence +' Initiative, the Ministry of Education, along with four other departments, has jointly unveiled the 'Artificial Intelligence + Education' Action Plan. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, this plan is designed to foster the growth of AI talent and spur innovation in AI applications. It seeks to harmonize the development of foundational infrastructures with innovative ecosystems, ultimately establishing an education framework tailored for the intelligent era.

The plan delineates four primary objectives:

1. To propel the cultivation of AI talent and enhance AI literacy across various educational stages, including basic education, higher education, vocational education, and lifelong learning. It also emphasizes the comprehensive enhancement of teachers' digital literacy.
2. To facilitate the seamless integration of AI into education, thereby empowering students in their learning journeys, aiding teachers in instructional delivery, optimizing school governance, and advancing scientific research endeavors.
3. To fortify the foundational environment for 'AI + Education' by constructing intelligent educational infrastructures, nurturing an application ecosystem, and developing educational spaces that are future-oriented.
4. To foster an open ecosystem by deepening research and innovation efforts, reinforcing support mechanisms, expanding international collaborations, and ensuring robust security measures are in place.

The plan sets forth an ambitious goal: by 2030, it aims to achieve a profound integration of AI and education, establish a comprehensive education system that encompasses all academic levels and public literacy education, augment the capacity and modernization of educational service delivery, and pioneer a new paradigm of smart education.
