On April 24, the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal Government convened a press conference to outline the latest developments in intellectual property protection efforts. During this event, it was revealed that the market supervision bureau of Beijing’s Chaoyang District had successfully investigated and resolved China’s inaugural case involving brand confusion through the unauthorized imitation of DeepSeek. Beijing Aolande Information Technology Co., Ltd. had leveraged its website to aggressively market a software product named the ‘DeepSeek Local Deployment Tool.’ The company’s promotional tactics included the prominent use of the term ‘DeepSeek’ and official brand icons across various sections of the webpage, effectively capitalizing on pay-per-click ranking mechanisms to drive traffic to their site. After thorough examination, the law enforcement authority concluded that these actions constituted deceptive and confusing behavior. Consequently, the company was directed to immediately cease all illegal activities and was fined 5,000 yuan as a penalty for their infraction.
