American fast-food chain Dairy Queen recently announced that it will deploy voice AI chatbots developed by Presto in the drive-thru lanes of select locations across the United States and Canada. The chatbots are designed to take orders and proactively recommend add-ons, aiming to speed up the ordering process and increase average order value. According to The Wall Street Journal, the system has completed testing in some stores, and Dairy Queen believes that AI can help alleviate peak-hour pressures and performs well in recommending additional food items.
