Google's Windows desktop search app, which was announced for testing last year, has now been officially released and is available for download to English-speaking users worldwide. The app supports Windows 10 and later versions, allowing users to bring up a floating search box using the 'Alt + Space' shortcut for quick searches of web pages, local files, and content in Google Drive. The app integrates four major search scenarios, supports AI mode for intelligent answers, and features Google Lens image recognition. It occupies only 8.5MB of background memory and responds extremely quickly. However, newly downloaded or created local files require a system restart before they can be indexed.
