Earlier on Friday, the San Francisco Police Department in the United States apprehended a 20-year-old individual suspected of launching Molotov cocktails at the home of Sam Altman, the founder and CEO of OpenAI. The suspect was also accused of displaying threatening behavior outside OpenAI's headquarters in San Francisco. OpenAI confirmed that, fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident and extended its appreciation to the police for their prompt action and the support received from the city government. The company is now collaborating with the police in the ongoing investigation. Altman has yet to issue a public statement on the matter. As per the San Francisco Police Department, the police initially spotted the suspect fleeing the scene during a fire investigation at a residence in the North Beach district. Shortly after, they received a tip-off about a man threatening to set fire to a building at a shop situated at 1400 Third Street. Upon reaching the location, the police identified the man as the same suspect who had escaped earlier and promptly took him into custody.
