Meta Platforms unveiled its latest artificial intelligence model, Muse Spark, on Wednesday. This marks the first model released since CEO Mark Zuckerberg heavily invested in restructuring the company's AI division to catch up with competitors. Developed by Meta's Superintelligence Lab (MSL), led by Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang, the team consists of highly paid AI researchers. Unlike Meta's previous open-source strategy, Muse Spark will adopt a closed-source approach, with its design and code remaining undisclosed. The model will power Meta's AI chatbot.
